Tennessee Aquarium

Opened in 1992, the Tennessee Aquarium was the world’s first major freshwater life center. As you tour the aquarium, you will take a trip from the source in the Appalachian high country, through its midstream, to its end in the Mississippi Delta. As you journey the living environments of recreated habitats, you will see fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles, mammals, and insects that make their home along the Tennessee River.

There are over 3.500 animals representing the 5 animal groups as well as various galleries with unique exhibits. You can see exhibits featuring the Mississippi Delta, Rivers of the World, the Tennessee River Gallery, Discovery Falls, and Cove Forest. Of special interest is a time of Q&A during scheduled fish feeding times.
